Early Life
Divine Ikubor was born on May 1, 2000 into a Christian family in Benin City. His primary and secondary education were all in Edo State. Rema grew up singing and rapping while in secondary school.
Music Career
Rema regularly did freestyles to songs and puts them on his Instagram page. He was discovered by D'prince after Rema posted a viral freestyle to his "Gucci Gang" in 2018.
D'Prince flew him to Lagos to offer him a deal and Rema signed a record deal with Jonzing World, a subsidiary of Mavin Recorss in 2019.

Rema became a household name in Nigeria after his hit song "Iron Man". The singer released his debut EP titled Rema. The Rema EP was a pure success with his songs topping all charts in the country gaining him prominence and critical acclaims.
"Iron Man" from the Rema EP appeared on Barack Obama's 2019 summer playlist and that was how the artist went international.
After the success of his debut EP, Rema made good use of 2019 to release two additional EPs - The Freestyle EP and Bad Commando EP. He also got featured on lots of songs by artists and he made them a bomb.
