These Are The Top 10 Richest Women in Nigeria 2019 - 2020

Folorunsho Alakija is the richest woman in Nigeria. Her niche is mainly fashion, oil, real estate and printing industries. Forbes in 2015 ranked her as the second most powerful woman in Africa after Ngozi Okonjo Iweala and the 87th most powerful woman in the world.

Alakija is the Executive Vice chairman of FAMFA oil limited and also the group managing director of the Rose of Sharon Group.


She is also good in philanthropy having a foundation named Rose of Sharon Foundation that helps widows and orphans through scholarships and business grants.


The house of Folorunsho Alakija is the most expensive house in Nigeria. Located in Ikoyi, Lagos State, this mansion is the most expensive house owned by a woman and also the most expensive in Africa. Wow! What a feat.

Hajia Bola is the second richest woman in Nigeria. What would you say about a woman who is worth over a billion dollars?. Hajia Bola Shagaya is currently on the board of Unity Bank PLC and has been there for over eight years.


Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan (GCFR) awarded her the title of Member of the Order of the Niger (MON) on July 22, 2010. Bola is the CEO of Bolmus Group International. The company among other businesses is involved in banking, oil and real estate business.


She reportedly has a $65 million Gulfstream G650 Private Jet. Alongside this she has lots of houses in the country and outside including fleets of luxury cars.

Fifi Ejindu was the entrepreneur awarded the African Achievers African Arts and Fashion Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013. She is currently worth around $600 million.

Do you know that Dr Stella Okoli is the founder of popular Emzor Pharmaceuticals. Look, i didn't even know that this massive company was owned by a woman. Wow! What a pharmacist.


The Emzor Pharmaceutical manufacturing company is very popular in Nigeria due to their various drugs produced and distributed especially the regular Emzor Paracetamol which we take once a while when feeling headache, muscle aches, colds and fever.


She is a great Entrepreneur and that's why she is fourth on our list. Dr Stella Okoli started the Emzor Pharmaceutical in 1977 as a small pharmacy retail shop in Somolu, Lagos State bearing the name "Emzor Chemists Limited".

She has managed to make her brand very popular and known for quality furnitures. Bimbo Alase has an estimated net worth of $450 million.


Her profile sounds really cool right? But nothing good comes easy. Bimbo Alase started as an owner of a small furniture store in Lagos and she has built it into multi-million dollars furniture company. 


Her company collaborated with NIERI which is an Italian furniture making company in 2005 and both companies did a really good job in producing great furnitures in the continent.

Daisy Danjuma is the wife of Nigerian billionaire General Theophilus Danjuma. She is a lawyer and a politician. Daisy in 2003 was elected as senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. She has served as Chairman of the ECOWAS parliament's women and children's rights committee and Senate committee Chiarman on Women Affairs and Youth Development. 


Daisy Danjuma is the 6th richest woman in Nigeria. Her career started as a State council in the Lagos State Ministry of Justice and was a pioneer legal council to the legal aid council of Nigeria. She was also company secretary /Legal Adviser to the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA). 


Daisy has served as the Chiarman of SAPETRO (South Atlantic Petroleum) from 1999 to 2003 before becoming a senator. SAPETRO is an oil and gas exploration company founded by her husband, General TY Danjuma. She is also a great philanthropist having helped a great deal of people.

Stella Oduah makes the list based on many controversies. She is a Nigerian senator and former minister of Aviation. Stella in February 2014 was relieved of her duties as Minister of Aviation due to some reasons. 


In 2015, 109 senators were elected to the 8th assembly. Out of these 109 senators only seven of them were women and she was among. 


Stella Oduah was reportedly said to have lied about obtaining an MBA degree from St Paul's College. She went in for her purchase of BMW bulletproof cars without following due process. 


On February 2017, it was reported that her four companies accounts got frozen over alleged indebtness of $16,412,819 and N100,493,225 by the Federal High Court in Lagos. 


Though on normal account she shouldn't be this rich but a lot of money were taken and locations unknown. He grabbed lots of funds while in office.

Ngozi Okonjo Iweala being the Minister of Finance from 17 August 2011 - 29 May 2015 made her very popular. She is a Nigerian economist and international development expert. 


She is a well renowned politician having taken the office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs from 21 June 2006 to 30 August 2006 and her first tenure as Minister of Finance in Nigeria from 2003 - 2006.


During Ngozi Okonjo Iweala's tenure as finance Minister, she spearheaded negotiations with the Paris club of creditors that led to the wiping out of $30 billion owned by Nigeria. She made huge efforts in empowering the Nigeria's Youth through youWIN, an innovation program for the youth. 


She sits on board of Standard Chartered Bank, Twitter, Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI) and the African Risk Capacity (ARC). 


Ngozi Okonjo Iweala was listed as the most powerful woman in Africa and the 87th most powerful woman in the world in 2015 by Forbes.

Diezani Madueke has been in the news for a long time. She is a well known politician who has held great offices for Nigeria. She is the first female president of Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).


In 2007, Diezani became the Minister of Transportation for Nigeria. She moved to mines and steel development in 2008. From 6th April 2010 - 28th May 2015 she was the Federal Minister of Petroleum Resources for Nigeria. 


She's been accused of awarding multi-billion Naira contracts without recourse to due process and of recklessly spending government funds. She has been charged with responsibility for $20 billion missing from the Petroleum agency.


Alison-Madueke revealed that while in office, she had been undergoing treatments for breast cancer in the United Kingdom.



Celicia Ibru

The Career of Celicia Ibru began in Ibru Organization. This organization was established in 1956 and because one of the largest conglomerates in Nigeria. It became a multi-billion dollar business with interests that included shipping, Agriculture, Aviation, Banking, Oil and Gas. 


She is the former Managing Director and CEO of Oceanic Bank. She graduated from the University of London in 1971 with a BS in sociology. Ibru pursued her graduate studies at the university and received a Masters of Philosophy from the School of Oriental and African Studies in 1977.



She joined Oceanic bank in 1990 as General Manager and after seven years with Oceanic Bank, she became the Chief Executive Officer. Ibru was dismissed in 2009 alongside other bank CEOs and they were replaced by Central Bank of Nigeria named replacement. 


One of the most recent report on Celicia Ibru was that she accused former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi of persecuting her because he thought she wanted her job.
