Early Life 

Azeez Adeshina Fashola was born on May 10, 1991 in Agege, Lagos State, Nigeria. He moved to Peckham located in South London, England at the young age of 11 where he went to the high schools Walworth school and Peckham Academy. Naira Marley graduated from Crossways College where he studied Business. 

Music Career

Naira Marley has been in music for quite a while before he found fame in 2017. He gained prominence in the industry with his breakthrough single "Issa Goal" which later turned into an anthem for the Super Eagles of Nigeria during the 2018 FIFA World Cup. 

The song featured Olamide and Lil Kesh and the official remix having additional three artists Falz, Simi and Slimcase. It was released on 16th June 2018.

The stage name Naira Marley was derived from Jamaican legendary singer Bob Marley. He claims to much adore the reggae singer so much and his dreadlocks is also a tribute to him. 

2019 appeared to be the biggest breakthrough for the singer. He was in the news frequently and mostly for his controversial song "Am I A Yahoo Boy" featuring Zlatan Ibile. He was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in relations to the song and claims of Naira Marley being involved in Cyber fraud. 

"Soapy" was dropped by the singer after his release and it was yet another controversial song. The electrifying jam was produced by Rexxie and was referred also as "Inside Life" by many fans. This period of 2019 was when Naira Marley built a huge base of controversial fans known as Marlians. 

Naira Marley on December 18, 2019 released his second EP "Lord Of Lamba", a mixture of Afrobeats and hip-hop. The music project had the guest artists Cblvck, Mayorkun, and Young John and consists of six tracks. The EP's production credit goes to Rexxie, Studio Magic and Killertunes. 

Naira Marley made the announcement of his record label launch during the Marlian Fest held at Eko hotels and suites in December 2019. He unveiled his signed acts Zinoleesky, Fabian Blu, MohBad and Cblvck on stage. 

On June 26, 2020 Naira Marley released a smash hit titled "As E Dey Go". The visuals of the song was released on June 28, 2020 racking up lots of views and trending on YouTube. 


Naira Marley accompanied to Court

After the release of 'Am I A Yahoo Boy' video, EFCC arrested Naira Marley and his friends Zlatan, Tiamiu Kayode, Adewunmi Moses and Abubakar Musa on May 10, 2019. He was charged with 11 counts of fraud by the EFCC after being kept in custody when zlatan and others were released. 

On June 24, 2019 he was released from jail two weeks after being granted bail of N2 million. 

Naira Marley on 13th June, 2020 performed at a concert in Abuja despite the interstate travel ban and social distancing rules aimed at curbing the spread of Covid-19. He was also arrested by the Nigerian police force for Contravening Lockdown orders in Lagos.
