Earlier saying that wizkid is one of the most profitable and bankable artists in Africa, his net worth is expected to be a huge one. Wizzy gets high amounts of music sales, getting booked for lots of music shows including ones he hosts personally, YouTube, his cloth collection and many more.

Wizkid net worth according to Forbes,  is estimated at $12 million and probably to $15 million. 


Wizkid Biography 

He was born on 16 July, 1990 as Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun. He is known popularly by his stage name, Wizkid. He started recording at the age of 11 and also managed to put up a collaborative album with his then church friends as they were known as the Glorious Five. 

Wizkid attended Ijebu Ode Grammar School. In mid 2009, he dropped out of Lagos State University (LASU) to focus on his craft. He later attended Lead City University but also dropped out after completing two sessions. 


Banky W in 2009 signed Wizkid to his record label, Empire Mates Entertainment (EME). He became popular in 2010 after his song "Holla at your Boy" was released from his upcoming  debut studio album "Superstar".

Wizkid was born in Surulere, a residential and commercial area of Lagos. He grew up in an interfaith household with twelve female siblings. 

His father is Muslim (practices Islam) while his mother is a Pentecostal Christian. In an interview with Tim Westwood in 2012, wizkid said his father has three wives. Wizkid listened to the likes of King Sunny Ade, Fela Kuti and Bob Marley while growing up. 

He beared the stage name Lil Prinz since he started recording at age 11 but got it changed in 2006. Wizkid described his life in a nutshell while on an interview with Adesope of Factory 78 TV. He said he formed a group called the Glorious Five with a couple of his church friends. 

The group managed to release an album before they disbanded. Wizkid later met a popular record producer, OJB Jezreel, who prevented him from recording for a year. 



While visiting OJB's PointBeat studios always, he watched legendary 2face Idibia record songs for his Grass to Grace Album. Wizkid was also present during the recording sessions for Sound Sultan's debut album, Jagbajantis. 


Wizkid pointed out Naeto C as one of the people who mentored and coached him when he was 15 years old. 

According to Wizkid, his parents didn't like the idea of doing music. He said he had to work hard and spread lots of time in the studio in order to gain his father's trust. 

Banky W's "Omoge You Too Much" was co-written by Wizkid. The song was from the album, "The W Experience". He also worked with the likes of M.I, Naeto C, OJB Jezreel, Ikechukwu while he was developing his craft. 

In 2009, work on his debut studio album has already commenced. On January 2010,he released "Holla at your Boy" which was the album's lead single. This song earned Wizkid the Next Rated Award at the Headies 2011 and was also nominated for Best Pop Single at the Headies Awards.

The music video for "Holla at your Boy" was nominated for Most Gifted Newcomer Video at the 2011 Channel O Music Video Awards. The video also got nominated for Best Afro Pop Video at the 2011 Nigeria Music Video Awards (NMVA).

The second single for the album was released on 2 April 2010. It was titled "Tease Me/ Bad Guys" and was initially released as a freestyle. "Don't Dull" was the third single for the album. It was released on 6 December, 2010.

The "Superstar" album was recorded in English and Yoruba. Empire Mates Entertainment on my 12 June 2011 released the album. It incorporated elements of R&B, Reggae and Dance hall.

Wizzy worked with many music producers like E-kelly, Jay Sleek, Shizzi, DJ Klem, MasterKraft, Q-Beats and Samklef. He also collaborated with other artists such as Banky W, Skales, D'Prince and Wande Coal.


An album launch party was hosted by Wizkid on 12 June 2011 at the Expo Hall of the Eko Hotel and Suites. The likes of Skales, 2face Idibia , Samklef, Wande Coal, Lynxx, Seyi Shay, Jesse Jagz, Ice Prince, D'Prince, Olamide , Eldee.

His debut album "Superstar" won the Best Album Of The Year at 2012 Nigerian Entertainment Awards and also got nominated for The Album Of The Year at the Headies 2012.

"Ayo" was Wizkid's second studio album. He started working on it in 2012. Guest appearances featured in the album were Tyga, Femi Kuti, Banky W, Seyi Shay, Phyno , Akon and Wale. Record producers such as Sarz, Shizzi, Uhuru, Del B, Dokta, Maleek Berry, Legendury Beatz and Spellz.

On September 6, 2014, Wizkid revealed the album's cover art including the track listing. Before announcing plans for a second studio album, he had plans of releasing a mixtape in April 2013. Wizzy in an interview with OK! Nigeria, said that the mixtape would feature the likes of Wale and Tinie Tempah.

Wizkid later announced that he would be releasing his second studio album on June 12, 2013. Banky W speaking on an interview with popular Entertainment TV Station, Hip TV, revealed the album's initial title "chosen" and also gave the estimated time-frame for the album's release.

"Jaiye Jaiye" was the albums lead single which featured Femi Kuti. It was released on 2 May 2013. "On Top Your Matter" was the follow up of "Jaiye Jaiye" and was released on 26 October 2013.

Wizkid's rise to stardom wasn't an easy one. He had wide range of struggles during his early years before breaking out.

Wizkid collaborated with American Singer, Chris Brown for the hit single "African Bad Gyal". On April 2015, Wizkid and Chris Brown performed the song together at Chris Brown's concert in Durban, South Africa. Wizkid released "Expensive Shit" which was a likely inclusion to the album.

Wizkid released a song "Ojuelegba" depicted the struggles he endured during the early years of his recording career. The music video for "Ojuelegba" was released on 5 January, 2015. The official remix for the song features vocals from Drake and Skepta, and premiered on OVO sound radio in July 2015.

Wizkid revealed his plans to postpone his third studio album release and drop his EP (Extended Play). The announcement was made to the public on instagram after the conclusion of 2face Idibia's "Fortified" tribute concert.

On 14 July 2017, Sounds From The Other Side was released on all digital platforms.


Wizkid in 2016, achieved international recognition following his collaborations with Drake on the global hit "One Dance" which reached number one in 15 countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Australia.

On April 5, 2016, Wizkid became the first Nigerian artist to emerge on Billboards Twitter Last 24 Hours Chart. "One Dance" reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, a position it kept for 10 non-consecutive weeks.

Following the release of his second studio album and expiration of his 5-year recording contract, wizkid left E.M.E on 1 March 2017. Billboard Magazine reported that Wizkid signed a multi-album deal with RCA Records.

The Chairman and CEO of RCA Records, Peter Edge, confirmed the signing of Wizkid while speaking to music business worldwide.

Feuds
Most high rated artists always gets engulfed in rifts with some other artists and a few more fellows. Wizkid is no different as he had a rift with Banky W, his former Boss but they are all good now. He also had beef with the likes of Skales, who was his former record label mate, Davido , Dammy Krane, Tonto Dikeh, Saeon, Samklef and Celebrity blogger Linda Ikeji.


On May 2018, Wizkid became the first African artist to sell out the famous 02 Arena, UK. He had a show on the popular arena which had a remarkable capacity of 20,000.

His last year late December show recorded a huge turnout as it was a sold out show. Wizkid would be on tour in March 2019 to different cities and is sure to record a huge turnout of fans.

Wizkid is a record label owner, StarBoy Entertainment. According to Wizkid, StarBoy Entertainment was established to give up and coming artists a platform to showcase their talent.

Most publications shades a lot of light on Wizkid having two or three main houses. One of them is located in Surulere, Lagos mainland and is said to be worth 13 million Naira.

Aside from the aforementioned house, he also has another one located in Lekki, Lagos and is said to be worth N68 Million.


Wizkid bought a new house in 2016 which is located in Los Angeles, US. The mansion has three floors and is designed in the Victorian style. There is a large and spacious swimming pool. Some sources states that the house has a cost of around $15 Million.
