BurnaBoy Biography 

BurnaBoy is a popular Nigerian singer and songwriter. He was born Damini Ogulu on July 2, 1991. He was born to Mr and Mrs Ogulu in Ahaoda, Rivers State. BurnaBoy is their only son and is the eldest of three children.

The Afro-fusion singer spent most of his summer holidays in the UK and in language immersion summer camps in France, Togo and Ivory Coast and then moved to United Kingdom where he got the British Patois accent which has become his signature move. 

Young BurnaBoy had his primary education at Montesorri International Primary School in Porthacourt from 1993 to 2002. After his days at Montesorri International school, he went into Corona secondary school, Lagos for his secondary education between 2002 to 2008.

While he was at Corona Secondary School, he led a high school band "Def Code" which he founded and also headlined a performance at the National Stadium as one of the highlights of the 50th anniversary of Corona Schools.

BurnaBoy had a one year internship program with Rhythm 93.7 FM, Porthacourt before he got signed to Aristocrat records and officially kick-started his career. Prior to this, he studied Media Technology at the University of Sussix between 2008 to 2009 and also did Media Communications and Culture at Oxford Brooke's University from 2009 to 2010.

BurnaBoy rose to stardom in 2012 after he released the single "Like to Party", which was the first single off his debut studio album "L.I.F.E". Burna is regarded by most to be among the most talented, versatile and consistent artists in the Nigerian Music Industry. 

The popular singer also released another great single titled "Tonight" on 24 September 2012. The video for the song was released on 31 December, 2012. BurnaBoy used the video to express his inmate feelings and emotions. 

L.I.F.E meaning Leaving An Impact For Eternity was his debut album which got released on August 12, 2013. BurnaBoy later got separated from his record label, Aristocrat Records in 2014. He created his own label in 2015, Spaceship Ent.

On 25 September 2015, he released his second album, On a Spaceship. 

BurnaBoy released a 7-track E.P titled "Redemption" on September, 2016. "Pree Me" was the album's lead single. 

BurnaBoy in January 2018, got featured on the track, "Sunshine Riptide" on Fallout Boys Grammy nominated seventh studio album. 

He released his third studio album "Outside" which made it's way to several global music charts and peaked again when his song "Ye" coincided with the title of Kanye West's eight album "Ye". Burna's album debuted at number three on Billboard's Reggae Albums chart. "Ye" became the album's biggest single and ended up on the top of most end-of-year lists as Nigeria's biggest song of 2018.

He was featured as YouTube's artist on the rise on October, 2018.

BurnaBoy was announced to be one of the several artists preforming on Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival alongside Mr Eazi.

BurnaBoy in 2016 trended for an alleged Baby mama call-out. His alleged Baby mama, Uju Stella Johnson called him out on May 2016 on instagram for abandoning her and their baby after she became pregnant for him. She also accused BurnaBoy of raping a girl in the UK and abandoning his trial process.

BurnaBoy responding to the call-out and accusations, admitted that he slept with her once but rubbished claims that he got her pregnant for him.

On February 2019, it was reported and confirmed that BurnaBoy is currently dating American female rapper, Stefflon Don. They have shared a couple of videos on their instagram stories proving all to be true.
